Special championship to promote women’s chess

The Royal Dutch Chess Federation (KNSB) is very proud to host the Youth Olympiad Under 16. Especially since we are also celebrating our 150th anniversary this year. To make the year even better, we are organizing another top event in the Netherlands during the Youth Olympiad: the Open World Dutch Women Top 10 Championships. Because we believe in and attach great importance to the promotion of women’s chess.

Practical information about the tournament

The tournament will take place from 9 to 18 August in the Van der Valk Hotel in Eindhoven, which will also be the players’ hotel (and the players’ hotel of the Youth Olympiad). The opening of the tournament and the draw of lots will take place on August 9. The first round will be played on August 10. The closing ceremony will be held on August 18 together with that of the Youth Olympiad. All rounds start at 2:00 PM (Central European Time), except the last one, which starts at 10:30 AM (CET)

With an average rating of 2341, several IM’s and WGM’s and an international group, we are very much looking forward to the start of the championship!
